Self-directed Learning

At FSAS self-directed learning and inquiry through projects is emphasised. ?Learning partners are expected to ask questions to guide their learning and, with support, take responsiblity for their own work and learning progess.

During individual learning time, you will see learning partners acitvely working on tasks in different subjects in a variety of ways; practicing grammar or spelling in a workbook, writing a story, reading a novel, practicing math on their iPad, researching a topic for social studies or creating a multi-media presentation for science.

Starting in year one, the learning partners practice making good choices and persisting with difficult tasks. They document their learning goals and organize their working time with their learning journal.
